Georgia State Patrol (GSP)
- 1/24 - GA DPS is moving all communications to SouthernLinc LTE using L3Harris subscriber radios. Communications will be unmonitorable and will not be patched to any existing infrastructure. All existing VHF P25 repeaters will only be used as a backup system. Most of South Georgia has already transitioned to the new LTE system.
- Troop H is confirmed to have switch over.
GBI is its own entity and not associated with GSP or DPS. I have had their statewide frequency programmed into my mobile in both analog and P25 for quite some time and have never heard any traffic on it and I travel a lot across the state. Being all state agency radio communications are managed by Georgia Technology Authority (GTA), its safe to assume GBI is on Southern Linc as well. GEMA has been using it for 10+ years as well as GSP has used it as a secondary system since I believe 2005. Here is more info
